  • Dr. Jayanand Sudhir, MBBS, MCh, is a Cerebrovascular Neurosurgeon; specializes in vascular diseases of the brain including aneurysms, arterio-venous malformations, Moyamoya disease and cerebral bypass procedures. He has performed over 100 cerebral bypass surgeries, mainly for Moyamoya disease. After his neurosurgical training at SCTIMST, Dr. Jayanand has received training for treatment of Moyamoya disease and cerebral bypass surgeryat Hokkaido University Hospital and Teishinkai Hospital, Sapporo, Japan. His research focus is on Moyamoya disease, application of computational fluid dynamics in cerebrovascular diseases, mechano-biology of Moyamoya disease.

  • Dr. Easwer H V heads the Neurosurgical department at SCTIMST and has practiced Neurosurgery at SCTIMST for 17years. A mentor, leader par excellence, he has streamlined surgical services for stroke. An expert in the management of Trigeminal neuralgia and aneurysms, he is also a lead authority in brain-death certification has authored several publications and holds patents.

  • Dr P N Sylaja, MD , DM , FRCP( Edin) is the Professor of Neurology and in-charge of the Comprehensive Stroke Care Program. She has been working in the area of stroke for the past 20 years. She is the past President of the Indian Stroke Association, member of the educational committee representing India in the World Stroke Organization, Honorary Professor of the University of Lanchashire , UK and fellow of the European Stroke Organization. She is the member of the Task Force Group of the Non-communicable disease division of the Indian Council of Medical Research. Her research interest includes stroke epidemiology, stroke imaging, intracranial atherosclerosis and stroke rehabilitation. With WellcomeDBT funding published the first genetic study of Moyamoya disease from India. She has 145 publications with an h-index of 33.

  • A lead expert in Stroke Neurology, Dr.Sajith has trained in Neurology from SCTIMST. Dr. Sajith holds a Fellowship in Interventional Neurology and Stroke from Sir Ganga Ram Hospital (New Delhi, India) and a Fellowship in Stroke from University College Hospital, London & National Hospital, Queen Square, London. Areas of interest include Acute Stroke interventions, Transcranial Neurosonology, Neurointensive care, and Stroke Rehabilitation. Dr. Sajith is currently pursuing research on predictors of stroke recovery and their modification to improve outcome, Stroke related Neuroimaging and development of advanced Imaging protocols in Stroke.

  • Dr Sapna Erat Sreedharan holds a degree in Neurology from SCTIMST. Currently, Additional Professor in Neurology, she has been working in Stroke and Sleep medicine since 2009. She has over 40 publications. Dr Sapna has a keen interest in Moyamoya disease and stroke and is actively pursuing research in acute treatment of stroke.

Dr. Jayadevan holds a vast experience in diagnostic angiography, magnetic resonance imaging and interventional radiology. An expert in interventional procedures including endovascular treatment of arterio-venous malformations, aneurysm coiling and flow-diverter treatment for aneurysms,he has ongoing research projects related to development of hardware in neuro-interventional radiology.

  • Dr Santhosh Kumar K is Additional professor in the department of imaging sciences and interventional radiology with more than 10 years of experience. His clinical focus is interventional neuroradiology and his research interests include neurovascular imaging and endovascular treatment of various neurovascular disease. He has ongoing projects related to development of hardware in neuro-interventional radiology and artificial intelligence in acute stroke imaging.

  • Holds key expertise and experience in the perioperative management of Moyamoya disease over 15 years. Dr. Manikandan’s team providesanesthesia for diagnostic procedures like MRI and digital subtraction angiography (DSA) before planning surgery, During surgery the neuroanesthesiologists are involved in various aspects of care to optimize the systemic and cerebral hemodynamics, afford neuroprotection and perform indocyanine green (ICG) angiography. Various advanced monitoring aids like processed electroencephalogram (EEG), cerebral oximetry is used intraoperatively to prevent cerebral ischemia. In the postoperative period, the team is involved in providing pain relief, maintain cerebral circulation and manage postoperative diagnostic procedures to check adequacy of flow.

  • Completed MD in Anaesthesiology from Govt. Medical College, Kottayam, and acquired DM in Neuroanaesthesia in SCTIMST. Had worked as Assistant Professor in the Dept of Neuroanaesthesia and Neurocritical Care in NIMHANS, Bangalore, before joining the Division of Neuroanaesthesia, in the Dept of Anaesthesiology in SCTIMST. Field of interest in the subspeciality include effect of anaesthetics on cerebrovascular physiology in the normal and diseased brain, patient safety and enhanced recovery in neurosurgery.
